Generally the Maid of Honour and or the Bridesmaids are the people to host the Kitchen Tea Party or Bridal Shower for the Bride. It can be held in the morning, afternoon or evening and can be of any theme that you would like to choose. When posting your invitations make sure that you allow for at least 6 weeks or so. Make sure that you invite people who are invited to the wedding. Traditionally a Kitchen Tea was held for a bride to be to help her get started with her basic needs for the kitchen. Today however most brides to be have already been living out of home for some time and may not require so many more kitchen items or appliances, this is why it may be a good idea to choose another theme away for the idea of kitchen items. Don't forget to make sure that you check with bride before making any final decision!! Why not try something different and have one of the following:- Cellar Tea / Garden Tea / Bathroom Tea Lingerie Party/ Tupperware Party / Kitchenware Party or you may even prefer to have a joint one with your fiancee Garage / Garden Tea / Dinner Party - bring a gift Bridal Shower Gifts We all love to give gift a gift at the bridal shower, but what about receiving one too?? It is not mandatory that you give your guests something but why not try something different to make your bridal shower fun and exciting. The gift does not have to be an expensive one, something that is small and thoughtful as well as being beautifully wrapped. A lovely keepsake gift that is placed at each table setting if you are planning a sit down meal or perhaps placed in a nice baskets some where near the front door for when your guests leave, adding the special touch to your bridal shower. Beautiful small photo frames with your guests names in the for place cards are a great idea to display seating as well as a lovely keepsake. Another idea is to also make your own table crackers. You can purchase them in your local craft shop or hobby shop and fill them with a small gift and some funny stories or questions to share with your guests. Bridal Shower Activities If you have a smaller guest list with a group of family and friends with similar interests, this can help you determine what type of activities you would like to choose for the day. If everyone is for example into fashion or lingerie, then why not include a lingerie or fashion party into your bridal shower. Readings, Karaoke and Tea Leaves If your budget permits, or if you have someone that you know who would be willing to do readings or tea cup leave readings or tarot card readings this will entertain your guests and keeping talking for hours, it is also a great way to get people who don't know anyone talking. Be entertained with future predictions! For the wannabe rock stars, hire a karaoke machine and have a real wild and fun day. Home movies of the bride and groom as children are a wonderful way to mark the passages in their lives and also relive some amusing moments. You’All need to check with the couple’s parents and arrange a preview session in order to select the most appropriate clips. Pampering Party Consider an afternoon at a spa, especially if your gift theme is items for the bath. Each guest should pay for their own treatment, while everyone pitches in to pay for the bride-to-be’s treatment. A relaxing session of facials and pedicures, followed by a healthy lunch of fruits and salads, will leave everyone feeling wonderfully rejuvenated and full of resolve to make this an annual get-together. Not to be Suprised ?? Sometimes a surprise shower is planned for the bride-to-be. This is not always wise, since the bride-to-be should be consulted on who attends the event and what type of gifts are needed. It is also possible that more than one shower is planned. Perhaps the bride's family and friends are planning one event and the bride's business associates are planning another. Only the bride will be able to coordinate the dates of both events. We advise against making this event a surprise unless you are sure of the following: The bride-to-be will not be disappointed that she has not been informed beforehand. You are confident that your guest list includes everyone the bride-to-be would have invited, if consulted. The bride-to-be has registered for gifts. The bride will not schedule another event on the planned date.
