Finding an Artist

Finding a Make-up Artist that's right for you doesn'thave to be a dilemma, but you must plan ahead! Professional artists are not only qualified and experienced but they must also be superb listeners and be able to demonstrate and advise you accordingly. A consultation or trial will help you decide on an artist as you will get a chance to not only see what they are capable of skill-wise but you will experience first hand their personality.

Most good Artists are booked well in advance, sometimes a up to a year just to get an appointment! So try not to leave Make-up to the last minute. Call around and get quotes for prices including trials as far in advance as possible. And when you contact your artist for the first time have the following questions ready for them to answer:

*Do you come to the home?

*Is there an additional traveling fee on top of the prices.

*What are their prices?

*Do you offer any packages, specials or discounts for group bookings?

*If you require them on a public holiday or Sunday-Check whether they charge more.

*Ask where they studied and when they graduated.

*How long have you been working on weddings in particular.

*Ask about their experience

*What products they use

*Are you required(pressured) to buy products from them on the day.

*If required, ask if they know any good hair stylists/nail technicians that can visit your home too.

*Ask them to bring along their portfolio for you to view their work at the trial. If they don't have a portfolio together this is a good indication that they are not experienced or serious enough.

*If they have many artists working for their company/agency, ask if you are guaranteed to get the same artist on your wedding day as on the trial.

*Do they offer an entourage service (second location touch-ups for look change at the reception)

Basic Preparation

Once you have found an Artist you are happy with it's a good idea to get yourself to a beauty therapist.
They can help with the following:

-Shaping and maintaining eyebrows
-Promoting brighter, smoother, clearer skin by regular facials. (remember that facials should not be done
within a month of the wedding).
-Manicures and Pedicures
-Body Wraps
-Spray Tanning

*Remember to eat healthy, don't starve yourself. Drink lots of water!! (8 glasses per day at least)

*Sleep at least 8 hours a night too- Sleep is after allone of natures best forgotten beauty secrets.

*Take a bath once a week- This helps immensely to reduce the affects of stress in what is the hardest time of the wedding preparations. You'd be suprised at the difference it will make to your well-being.

*And remember to take Vitamins.
-Celery and Juniper for White bright eyes.
-Zinc to clear up pimples
-Vitamin C for beautiful, radiate soft skin.

The rest is up to the experts!

A professional artist will be quick, organised, talented, friendly and flexible on your day. They should also call you closer to date confirming your appointment and not over book on your wedding day.
